$2,000 Raised for Trout Stocking

CLEARFIELD – Pat Domico, fishing coordinator, said $2,000 has been raised for trout stocking this year.

“We’re up $1,000 from last year,” he said. “We want to put trout and wildlife back in the river. We’re doing it for tourism.”

“It’s nice the people respond and show the importance of recreation in our area,” Wes Weymers, Clearfield County Recration and Tourism Authority chairman, said.

Domico said Curwensville Anglers Restocking Program and Billy’s Burger Land recently partnered to raise $2,000 additional dollars for walleyes and trout stocking in the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.

“Anyone who makes a one dollar donation will have their name displayed on the restaurant’s walls,” he said.

“We need to be cohesive and work together,” he said.

Domico reminded the board of the 33rd annual kids fishing derby on Saturday, April 19 at Parker Dam. He said anyone who needs more information can contact him at 236-3621.
