DuBois – Cameron County area students preparing for college entrance exams can get some instruction close to home this spring. The Continuing Education Department at Penn State DuBois is partnering with the Cameron County School District to offer the SAT preparation course at Cameron County High School for the first time.
The six-session course will show students how to logically break down questions, plus offer an intensive review of both language and math skills. It will also teach students to overcome text anxiety with self-relaxation and preparation techniques. Past participants are quick to note the benefits of the course.
Alyssa Weidow, who recently completed the course at a different location, said, “The SAT prep class really helped me be more prepared for the SAT reasoning test. All of the tips, techniques, and study habits helped me to know what to expect when I went to take the test.”
Classes will be held at the Cameron County High School in Emporium on each Saturday beginning March 1 through April 12 from 9:00 a.m. until Noon. There will be no class on March 22, due to the Easter holiday.
