PHILIPSBURG – Philipsburg-based state police have reported that a West Decatur woman has been charged with aggravated assault following an inciden with a Philipsburg man.
It was first reported by Iris Mack that she was sexually assaulted by a 49-year-old Philipsburg man while she they were sleeping in the same bed. She reported to police that she was awakened during the alleged assault and became irrate and confronted the man.
She then left the apartment.
One hour later Mack reportedly returned with a 6 inch fillet knife. Mack allegedly stabbed the man in the left thigh. The man refused medical treatment.
Mack was taken to Clearfield Hospital to check for a possible sexual assault. Evidence from that exam has been sent to the state police lab in Harrisburg.
Mack was arrested for burglary, aggravated assault and simple assault. Mack was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair set bail at $250,000 and Mack was place in Centre County Jail pending a hearing Jan. 16.
The investigation into the alleged sexual assault is pending lab results.
