Accident on I-80 Leads to Hazardous Materials Clean-Up

COOPER TOWNSHIP – Clearfield-based state police reported an accident that resulted in hazardous materials being spilled on Interstate 80 Tuesday morning.

According to Police an Irondale, Ohio man was traveling west on I-80 when he started to veer of the road. He traveled into an embankment before his vehicle overturned.

One trailer on his truck was carrying a small amount of hazardous material that was contained at the scene. Eagle Towing/Hazmat responded to the scene to contain the material.

Police were assisted at the scene by Eagle Towing/Hazmat, PennDOT, Winburne Fire Company and the Clearfield County Emergency Management Agency.

Charges are pending on the driver, who suffered minor injuries.
