CLEARFIELD – A Grampian man is in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail after being arraigned on charges that he sexually assaulted a girl over a two-and-a-half-year period.
William E. May Sr., 38, is alleged to have started assaulting the girl in 2005 when she was 7 years old.
State police interviewed the girl twice. During the first interview, the girl spoke about May allegedly touching her and May telling the girl to touch his genitals. In the second interview, the girl showed police a drawing and paragraph she wrote about May and the alleged interaction between them.
The girl also told police that May would have intercourse with her.
Troopers also interviewed May, who said he did not assault the girl.
Police said May admitted to taking the child for walks and four-wheeler rides.
In total, May faces two counts of aggravated indecent assault, 132 counts of indecent assault, one count of corruption of minors and one count of unlawful contact with a minor.
