Arson Investigation at Punxsutawney Railroad

PUNXSUTAWNEY – State police in Punxsutawney are investigating two fire that occurred at a Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad track on Monday before noon.

A fire marshal unit was called in to investigate fires on the railroad that parallels Cloe-Rossiter Road, across from Ridge Road. One of the fires was started on the railroad tracks. That fire burnt itself out. The other fire was started along the track and it was extinguished by employees of the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad.

No injuries were reported and no damage was done to the track. The fires are classified as incendiary and an arson investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police fire marshal unit at 814-938-0510.
