CLEARFIELD – With the support of the Navasky Foundation for Life, Altoona Regional’s Radiation Oncology Unit was able to renovate and refurnish its patient reception area.
On hand recently to witness the unveiling of the renovations were Radiation Oncology staff, Altoona Regional board members, and administrators, and family and friends of the foundation.
The Navasky Foundation, based in Philipsburg, was started by Chuck Navasky and his wife, Jaye. Through concerts, CD sales, speaking engagements, and fund raising events, they have generated substantial funding for cancer research centers in Pennsylvania. Locally, the Navasky Foundation partners with the Altoona Curve each January on the Curve’s Hot Stove Banquet event and has used the proceeds as donations to the Altoona Regional cancer center in the amount of $50,000 for the past two years.
