CLEARFIELD – Michael Moyer limited Moshannon Valley to four hits and struck out eight in five innings for a 7-2 victory that gave the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 fall baseball team a split in action at the Lawrence Township Rec Park Field Sunday afternoon.
Earlier, Clearfield lost 12-6 to Punxsutawney, which then defeated Moshannon Valley 7-1.
Moyer and David Welker rapped doubles in the tripleheader\’s nightcap, which was halted because of darkness in the middle of the fifth.
Against Punxsy, Clearfield managed only six hits off winner Jake Stumpf and Nick Pascuzzo. Isaac Butler took the loss.
Manager Sid Lansberry\’s team, which had a doubleheader at Brookville canceled on Saturday, will take a 6-10-2 record into its final games Sunday at 1 p.m. against West Branch.
