Man Arrested for Attempting to Break into Vehicles

PHILIPSBURG – A Philipsburg man was arrested on several charges after attempting to break into cars and later being found in possession of drugs.

Joseph M. Morbeto, 19, was allegedly seen trying to enter several vehicles on Walnut Street in Rush Township, Centre County, early Tuesday morning. State police at Philipsburg received assistance from one of the victims in the case to help taking Morbeto into custoday.

Police conducted a pat search of Morbeto, finding a small amount of suspected marijuana and a smoking pipe on him.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair in Philipsburg and placed in Centre County Jail in lieu of $1,000 straight bail.
