Sale of One Clearfield Fire House Final

CLEARFIELD – The sale of at least one of the two liquidated Clearfield Borough fire stations is complete.

That news came at Thursday’s work session of the Clearfield Borough Council.

Solicitor F. Cortez “Chip” Bell III said that the sale of the Fourth Ward Fire Co. to Robert Greenland was to be finalized Friday morning. Greenland bid $45,000 for the building.

The other building, which was sold to Clearfield Electric for $37,000, has not been finalized.

Bell noted that he sent several letters to the successful bidder but has not received a response. Clearfield Borough Code Enforcement Officer Jim Kling said the winning bidder has asked several code questions of him regarding the building.

The council will further act on the issue at Thursday’s regular meeting.
