Updated Sketch Released for Assault Suspect

STATE COLLEGE – The State College Police Department continues to seek assistance in identifying a suspect in the assault of a woman inside her borough apartment that occurred at 6:15 a.m. on July 4. The apartment is located in the area of Pugh Street and McCormick Avenue.

The victim, a female in her 30s, was attacked inside her home by a lone unknown intruder. The intruder gained entry through an unlocked door and while inside he physically and sexually assaulted the victim. The victim suffered several head wounds that were inflicted by a blunt object. She was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center where she was admitted and is still being treated for her injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a slender build, wire-rimmed glasses and some facial hair on his chin. At the time of the attack, the suspect was wearing a dark ball cap on backwards; a gray T-shirt; a black, long-sleeved, waist-length jacket; long, denim shorts with a pocket strap with a red label; and gray athletic running shoes with dark blue trim.
