Curwensville LL 9-10 All-stars Eliminated in Heartbreaker by Milesburg 12-11

CURWENSVILLE – The District 5 Northern Tier Tournament ended in heart-breaking fashion for the Curwensville Little League 9-and-10 All-Stars Thursday evening.
They opened up an 11-1 lead through three innings and were one-out away from a mercy rule win when Milesburg prolonged the elimination bracket final with two runs in the top of the fourth.
Milesburg then tacked on two runs in the fifth and erupted for seven runs in the sixth, five with two outs, to nip manager Rich Terry\’s team 12-11.
Curwensville, which bowed out with a 2-2 record, was led by Ricky Magnuson\’s single and double and Jade McDermott\’s bases-loaded triple. Tanner Elensky also tripled, while Jake Terry doubled.
Sam Bressler pitched four innings before departing because of his pitch count. Terry relieved in the fifth and was the loser.
