PHILIPSBURG – The Curwensville Little League 9-and-10 All-Stars were beaten 12-5 by host Philipsburg-Osceola in a District 5 quarterfinal game at Homer Maney Memorial Field Friday evening.
Jake Stiles, Jake Terry and Tanner Elensky had two hits apiece for Curwensville, which scored all of its runs with two outs in the fifth inning.
Sam Bressler cracked a triple, while Stiles and Ricky Magnuson socked doubles.
Magnuson took the loss, pitching into the third inning. Elensky and Terry followed him to the mound. The trio allowed 10 hits.
Sinclair was the winning pitcher. He was relieved by Pepperday in the fifth. Lamb also pitched.
Pepperday and Thompson each had two singles for P-O, which will play Four-Leaf Clover in a winner\’s bracket semifinal at Woodland Sunday.
Curwensville will travel to Snow Shoe Sunday for a 6 p.m. elimination bracket quarterfinal against Mountain Top, a 4-1 loser at Milesburg Friday.
