CLEARFIELD – I-80 roadway improvement work in Clearfield County continues. The work zone stretches from mile marker 120 (Clearfield exit) to mile marker 126, both east and westbound.
The eastbound left (passing) lane has been closed since work began June 11. Starting Friday, the westbound left (passing) lane will also be closed. Motorists can expect traffic delays.
Signage is in place to alert motorists to the lane restrictions and Pennsylvania State Police have been on site to enforce the work zone speed limit. There are no width restrictions in the open lanes. Daylight activity in the zone includes shoulder work, guide rail updates, and roadway milling. Nighttime paving will take place eastbound beginning on Sunday. Nighttime paving hours are 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
PennDOT will provide updates on this work throughout the summer. All work is expected to complete by October, weather permitting. Contractor on the $12.3 million project is New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc.
PennDOT reminds drivers to move through all work zones with caution, obey posted speed limits and always buckle-up.
