DUBOIS – The Sandy Township Recreational Park will be receiving a facelift after an approval by the supervisors at Monday’s meeting.
Two contractors put forth bids to gain the right to the paving at the park.
B.K. Asphalt Paving Inc. of Falls Creek submitted the winning bid of $15 per square yard, or $40,500. The other bid, received and opened May 29, was higher in price.
The paving is being made possible thanks to a Department of Conservation and Natural Resources grant that also paid for concession stands at the park.
The supervisors awarded the bid unanimously.
The supervisors also approved the consolidation of two lots in treasure lake for Tabatha L. Jeffers, who resides in Treasure Lake.
The consolidation is being done to comply with zoning ordinances in place within the township. These ordinances simply state that a garage alone cannot be built on a lot without a house being on the same lot. In order to overcome this technicality, the two adjacent lots will be combined to form one, in compliance with zoning ordinances.
Supervisor Jim Jeffers abstained from the lot consolodation vote.
