CLEARFIELD – Don’t tell the organizers of this year’s Clearfield Riverfront Festival that summer is still weeks away. They’re set to kick it off a bit early and welcome the season with Clearfield’s best free family entertainment.
The annual festival opens at about noon Thursday to welcome those in search of official festival food such as Steak-On-A-Stick, gyros and hot sausage sandwiches. Craft and other booths will also be open in the afternoon.
Then, Thursday night will see a parade through the downtown beginning at 6:30 p.m. Clearfield County Commissioner Mike Lytle and his wife, Ruth, will lead the parade.
At 7 p.m., Clearfield County’s own Matt Day will take to the gazebo stage playing all types of music from country, rock and even some folksy tunes.
The Elks Flag Day ceremony will be at the Clearfield County Courthouse at 7:30 p.m.
The night is rounded out with DTK playing songs from the ’80s to today beginning at 8 p.m.
