Lady Bisons End Regular Season on High Note

Hyde —- After all the one-run ball games the Lady Bisons played this year, unfortunately losing most of those, an \”easy\” game was what was needed to close out the season and get the momentum going for the upcoming playoffs. It\’s exactly what they got.

The Lady Bisons made short work of the Johnsonburg Lady Rams by invoking the 10-run \”mercy rule\” during the 5th inning.

The Bisons scored all the runs they would need in the bottom of the first inning, as Nikki Collins doubled in Alanna Luzier and Mallory Janocko, who had both singled.

Starting pitcher Toni Brubaker, now 4-1 on the season, would allow one run, unearned, for the game. She also gave up only one walk, while striking out eight.

The Lady Bisons also tallied 2 runs in the 3rd inning, again highlighted by a double by Collins.

The score was 4-1 heading into the bottom of the 5th, as Johnsonburg  scored their single, unearned run in the top of the 5th.

It was at that time that the Lady Bison bats really came to life. Six hits and two errors plated seven runs to set the final at 11-1.

The Lady Bisons must now wait until May 30 to play again. At that time they will square off with the Punxsutawney Lady Chucks in the D9 AAA finals. The winner will move on to the PIAA state playoffs. The two teams split during the regular sesaon – each winning on their home field.
