Mo Valley Approves Preliminary Budget, No Tax Increase Planned

AMESVILLE – The proposed 2007-08 budget will hold the line on taxes for the Moshannon Valley School District.

The balanced $12.8 million budget was created with 70 percent of funding coming from the state, 27 percent from local taxes and 3 percent from federal sources including grant monies.

School property taxes will remain at 85.5 mills if the budget is given final approval.

The budget was unanimously approved for advertising at Monday’s school board meeting. It will be open for public review on June 1.

The budget will be on the table for final approval at the June 18 meeting.
