Lady Tide Blank Moshannon Valley 10-0

CURWENSVILLE—-For the second straight game the Curwensville Lady Tide softball team shut out their opponent. On Friday afternoon it was Moshannon Valley going down 10-0 as the Lady Damsels mustered only one hit. The win gives Curwensville a 8-1 mark on the year and leaves Mo Valley, coached by Mike Bacher, at 4-6. The Lady Tide have now outscored their opponents by an 80-8 margin.

Curwensville’s Holly Lansberry gave up a lead off single in the first inning to Taylor Murarik of the Damsels and then slammed the door on the visitors. Other than a walk later in the game that was it for Mo Valley as the Lady Tide scored five in the first inning, one in the second and four in the third to gain the 10 run rule win after 4 and ½ innings of play. Lansberry, who now is also 8-1 on the year, struck out 10.

Catcher Dana Johnson had a double and a triple with 3 RBI’s that pushed the Tide past the Damsels. Lansberry, Dani Struble, Ashley Demchak and Tess Bloom all had two hits as Curwensville banged out 15 on the day. Struble also had a triple while Lansberry and Samantha Haney stroked doubles.

After the game head coach Allen Leigey said of his Lady Tide, “Our bats were simply just alive all afternoon as we really focused at the plate. The girls just didn’t let up.” Leigey now looks forward to the big away game on Tuesday against West Branch saying, “ Now we have to really focus to get prepared for a very good West Branch team. We know it is a big Moshannon Valley League game and we just have to keep working hard in order to successful.”
