PUNXSUTAWNEY – A fire that happened Wednesday night at the home of Ronald and Marlene Fike has been ruled accidental.
Cpl. Thomas E. Josephson, a state police fire marshal, investigated the fire, stating that it began in a rear addition of the Fikes’ mobile home due to a malfunctioning wood burner.
The home sustained severe damage of about $60,000.
The Fikes were home when the fire started, and Marlene Fike was transported to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
