Lady Tide Top Johnsonburg Lady Rams 15-0 to Stay Unbeaten

CURWENSVILLE—-Playing just 2 ½ innings the Lady Tide of Curwensville put the hammer down to take out Johnsonburg’s Lady Rams Wednesday afternoon 15-0. The victory in the brief contest keeps the Tide unbeaten at 4 and 0 under head coach Allen Leigey.

Curwensville put the game away in the bottom of the first inning by touching home plate ten times. They then added 5 more in the second to get the quick win. Afterwards coach Leigey said, “Basically, we just hit the ball very hard for the shortness of the game. We did what we had to do and are always happy to have the W.”

The Lady Tide had a total of 10 hits in their two trips to the plate. Seniors Dani Struble and Dana Johnson, along with sophomore Holly Lansberry each had two hits. Each picked up a double in the process to lead Curwensville with Struble scoring three times and driving in 4 runs. Johnson and sophomore Shannon McDonald also drove in two runs apiece. The Lady Tide were sharp on the base paths as they stole a total of 6 bases in just two innings of offense.

Lansberry improved her record to 4-0 on the mound while giving way to Stacey Johnson, another sophomore, who pitched the final inning.

The Lady Tide have now outscored their four opponents by an astounding 47-1 count.

Curwensville is scheduled to travel to St. Mary’s on Friday for a 4:15 start.
