CURWENSVILLE – Clearfield-based state police fire marshals report that a 69-year-old Curwensville woman died in an accidental fire on Thursday night.
According to the report, the fire originated somewhere near the center of a three-apartment complex on 132 East St. The investigation revealed that the fire was accidental. Investigators also learned that Beverly Bernadette Palmer died as a result of the fire.
Damage to the building is estimated at over $100,000. Police worked with the Curwensville Borough Police Department and Hose & Ladder fire chiefs.
The Clearfield-Jefferson Red Cross responded to the fire and provided emergency assistance to families and to emergency service workers. The displaced families were provided with comfort kits and funds to purchase food and clothing. A canteen was provided for emergency workers. The drinks provided by the Red Cross workers were donated by Curwensville Uni-Mart.
