Police Seek Help in Buggy Hit-and-Run

TROUTVILLE – State police at DuBois are turning to the public for help in finding a driver who struck a horse-drawn buggy and fled the scene.

David A. Schlabach of Punxsutawney was traveling northbound on Golden Yoke Road on Friday at about 8:45 p.m. when a tan-colored pickup truck was traveling south on the same road in Brady Township.

The truck moved to make a wide turn onto Swope Hill Road, striking the buggy.

The buggy was moderately damaged and was not able to be driven from the scene. No one in the buggy was hurt.

A black rubber side molding strip along with part of a chrome wheel well molding were both found at the scene and are believed to have fallen from the tan truck.

Police noted that the underside of the molding had tan or light brown paint on it.

Anyone with information on the crash or the driver of the truck should call police at 371-4652.
