DUBOIS – State police at the DuBois barracks are continuing their search for a man accused of assaulting a woman and then violating a Protection From Abuse order.
Police and PA Crime Stoppers said that in the fall of 2006, Jason D. Rankin, 26, assaulted a woman in what they called “an extremely violent attack.” Charges were filed, and that case is pending. The alleged victim in the case then filed for a PFA on Rankin.
Rankin then telephone the victim, violating the order.
Due to that alleged action, an additional charge of harassment by communications was issued.
Investigators said Rankin should be considered “very violent.”
Rankin’s last known address was in North Cambria, Cambria County.
Rankin is described as a white man who is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds and has a medium build. He has brown hair and green eyes.
