Gov. Rendell Names Doug Rohanna to Head Communications Office

HARRISBURG – Gov. Edward G. Rendell named Doug Rohanna, a public relations and communications strategist, as his new director of
communications.

Rohanna, 34, will oversee communications planning in the executive branch, including management of the Governor’s Communications Office and press offices of state agencies under the governor’s jurisdiction.

“I am pleased to welcome Doug Rohanna back to state government,” said Rendell. “Doug’s wealth of experience will bring innovative approaches and fresh ideas to our ongoing efforts to inform Pennsylvanians about the many ways in which state government is working hard to serve their
needs.”

Rohanna most recently was vice president of the Bravo Group, a Harrisburg-based communications and lobbying firm. He previously served as chief of staff to state House Majority Leader Bill DeWeese.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to help advance Governor Rendell’s agenda of progress,” said Rohanna. “His aggressive initiatives for energy, health care, transportation and other key issues will continue to strengthen Pennsylvania’s communities and build a brighter future for our citizens.”

A native of Waynesburg, Greene County, Rohanna earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Waynesburg College. Rohanna and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters, Katherine and Aubrey. They live in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County.
