DUBOIS – Friday’s PSU Athlethic Conference home opener saw Penn State DuBois men’s varsity basketball team notch a promising 41-point victory, defeating PSU Scranton 97 – 56. Family, students and friends cheered on their team wearing their white shirts for this season’s first white out game.
Gabe Rosenburg (DuBois) led the team in scoring with 16 points, followed closely behind by Dylan Howard (Oswayo Valley) with 15 points. Kyle Dynda (Austin) notched a double double for DuBois with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Genevro (Elk Catholic) led the team with 7 assists. The Johnson Motors Player of the Game was Brandon Krug (Punxsutawney Area) with a strong defensive game.
Head coach Dave Bennett was proud of the win, stating, “Everyone played hard. There was a great effort, especially on defense. We need to continue this same effort … It was a good win.\”
Penn State DuBois was home again on Saturday with a narrow win over Penn State Abington, 67-65. Rosenberg was lead scorer with 16 points including four three-pointers, with Dylan Howard and Kyle Dynda (Cameron County) chipping in 15 apiece, Jonny Songer (Cameron County) with 13, and Kevin Genevro with 12.
Kyle Vogt (Cameron County) was the Johnson Motors Player of the Game.
