CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners took action Tuesday to help the River Street Bridge in Curwensville become more structurally sound.
The commissioners announced at their meeting that while they have been looking to totally rebuild the bridge in the future, it needs repairs immediately. An engineer informed the commissioners that underpinnings on the bridge need repaired.
The county received two quotes for the bridge work. The first was from R.H. Bailey for $62,000. The other was from Francis J. Palo in the amount of $44,810. The commissioners approved the low bid provided by Francis J. Palo.
According to the commissioners work will begin this week, and that the repairs will not close the bridge.
