Power Fully Restored Saturday Night after Wind Storm

CLEARFIELD – A wind storm that knocked out power to about 8,600 customers roared through Clearfield County Friday.

Penelec Area Manager John Shimko said restoration efforts in DuBois and Punxsutawney saw everyone with power back on by about 6 p.m. Saturday.

Shimko said about 12 percent of Penelec customers in the Clearfield operations center were affected. That area includes about 2,500 square miles of territory from Brookville to Bellwood and Snow Shoe to Fallentimber.
