CLEARFIELD – Children and parents lined up well before the the start of the annual Clearfield Area Jaycees Christmas Parade.
The parade had it all: twirlers, a marching band, the Grinch, Santa and Mrs. Claus, candy throwing and more. After the parade, children were treated to pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library. Outside, at Shaw Park next to Santa’s house, Timothy Klock, of Altoona, carved ice sculptures with a chainsaw.
Participants in this year’s parade included parade Grand Marshalls, the United Way Board, Twilight Eve and Downtown Lighting Fund, Clearfield Vol. Fire Dept. truck 1, the Clearfield Area High School Marching Band, Clearfield Fair Queen Sara Elling, Cub Scout Pack 10, Clearfield Vol. Fire Dept. truck 2, Del Grosso’s Amusement Park, the Grinch, Center Grove United Methodist Church, Clearfield Vol. Fire Dept. truck 3, Glen Richey Firettes Drill Team & Twirling Ribbons, WOKW and Harley the Lion, Clearfield Vol. Fire Dept. truck 4, Rudolph and Rudi, the Mann Family Christmas float, Lock Haven-Clearfield campus homecoming king and queen with Christmas elves and Santa and Mrs. Claus on Lawrence Township fire truck 5.
Del Grossos won the”Best Float” award, CHS Marching Band won the “Best Musical Performance” award, the Glen Richey Firettes won “Best Dance Group” award, Cub Scout Pack 10 won the “Best Scout Pack” award, and the Grinch won “Best Overall
