DUBOIS – DuBois City Council named Ron LaRotonda the new chief of the DuBois City Police Department earlier this month, but still unseen is what Sandy Township plans to do for a chief.
The DuBois City promotion came for the former assistant chief after the department was without an official head for a little over a year.
Two sergeants currently run the Sandy Township Police Department, Rod Fairman and Kris Kruzelak.
Sandy Township Supervisor Chairman Brady LaBorde said the supervisors are still in the early stages of discussing the matter.
The supervisors adjourned their meeting Monday night and went into a separate meeting for legal and personnel issues, but they did not say whether they planned to discuss the police.
The supervisors decided earlier this month to forgo a study that would have determined the feasability of forming a consolodated police department.
