Falls Creek Man Sentenced for Sex Crimes

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman sentenced a Falls Creek man to state prison for sex crimes against a then-14-year-old girl.

Chad E. Himes, 27, was sentenced to six months to 2 years at a state correctional institution for a felony charge of statutory sexual assault. He was also ordered to complete Project Point of Light counseling, to submit to D.N.A. testing, and was sentenced to two years probation consecutive to the above sentence. Himes is not to have contact with the victim.

The sentence stems from events that took place on June 7, 2001. Himes met with the victim at Sheetz on Park Avenue and Brady Street. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the two went back to Himes’ residence and smoked marijuana. At some point, they engaged in intercourse.

Ammerman noted during the sentencing that Himes was getting a state sentence due to a similar conviction in Jefferson County.
