Speed Display Sign Coming to Clearfield

CLEARFIELD – At the request of the Lawrence Township Police Department, PennDOT District 2 will place a radar controlled speed display sign along River Road near the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center on Oct. 11.

The sign will remain on display for about two weeks and will register the speed of vehicles traveling on River Road.

The speed display sign uses radar and determines the speed of oncoming traffic. Those speeds are then posted on the lighted section of the speed display sign. Above the speed display is another showing the posted speed limit for that section of River Road.

The Lawrence Township Police Department will be monitoring the section of River Road where the speed display sign is located.
