Area Woman to Appear on Dr. Phil Show

CLEARFIELD – For some people, getting the chance to meet one of their favorite television personalities is a far-off dream. One area resident got the chance to make that dream come true.

Karen Kane will appear on Tuesday’s episode of the Dr. Phil show. Kane said that she took part in an online contest to appear on the show and meet Dr. Phil’s wife, Robin McGraw. Kane said the show will focus on women’s issues. It also celebrates the release of Robin McGraw’s first-ever book, “Inside My Heart.”

“I admired the fact she was supportive of him while he was working,” said Kane.

Kane said that after taping herself twice and conducting lengthy and numerous phone and e-mail interviews, she flew to California in August to tape the episode.

Because of a non-disclosure form, Kane was not allowed to give too much about the show away.

The show will air tomorrow at 11 a.m. on WJAC-TV channel 6.

This is the second show that Kane has been on. On Sept. 13, 2004, Kane was an audiance member on the Oprah Winfrey Show, where audiance members were given automobiles.
