CLEARFIELD – The Sandy Township Wal-Mart was evacuated at 3 p.m. Tuesday due to a bomb threat.
The store had a similar situation four weeks ago when a threat was called in, and shoppers and employees were not allowed in the store for about six hours.
The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency reports that the store was searched Tuesday, but nothing suspicious was found. The scene was cleared at 8:19 p.m.
PEMA also notified the FBI; the offices of the Attorney General and Homeland Security; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; the Northwest Regional Counterterrorism Task Force; and state Police.
GantDaily is awaiting word from Wal-Mart representatives about the incident.
