Bison Golfers Defeated Golden Tide

HYDE — Matt Duncan was medalist with an 80 to lead the Clearfield Area High School boys golf team past Curwensville 359-371 in an Allegheny Mountain League South Division match at the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club Thursday.

Coach Willie Vokes\’ Bisons evened their record at 1-1 for Friday morning\’s home match against Philipsburg-Osceola and Bellefonte, while Coach Jim Fleming III\’s Golden Tide fell to 0-2.

Backing Duncan for Clearfield were Adam Rowles with a 91, Mark Krchnak with a 93 and Brandon Boyer with a 95.

Curwensville, which goes on the road to play DuBois Central Catholic Monday at 2:30 p.m., got a 92 from Brandon Miller, a 94 from Andrew Straw and a 97 from Robert Swatsworth.

Clearfield\’s junior varsity also won, 164-190, in a nine-hole match. Bison John Williams was medalist with a 50.
