Person Arrested for Forgery and Related Charges

CLEARFIELD – On Thursday, Clearfield Borough Police arrested Jodie Wilkinson for forgery, theft, identity theft and related offenses.

Police report that Wilkinson removed two checks and $20 from a purse of another person while on Elm Avenue on Wednesday. Wilkinson signed the person’s name to the check and presented herself to a bank on River Road in Lawrence Township as being that person, according to police.

The bank refused to cash the check.

Wilkinson was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland, and bail was set at $50,000 straight.

Police are also investigating complaints that Wilkinson has passed bad checks in the Curwensville/Clearfield area over the last several weeks. Curwensville Borough Police and Lawrence Township Police are assisting in the investigation.
