UNIVERSITY PARK– The Clearfield Area High School boys golf team finished ninth with a 276 score and Curwensville placed 10th with a 291 in the small-school division of the Bolton Memorial Tournament at the Penn State White Course Wednesday. Each team had four golfers, with the best three scores counting for its total.
Matt Duncan led the Bisons with an 88, while Mike Kritzer had an 89 and Mark Krchnak added a 99. Brandon Boyer posted a 102.
Eric Kendall was low for the Golden Tide with an 89. Robert Swatsworth checked in with a 99 and Andrew Straw with a 103. Brandon Miller carded a 108.
Three other District 9 schools topped the small-school competition. Brookville, led by C.G. Mercatoris\’ four-under-par 68, won with a 227. Elk County Catholic was runner-up with a 232, and DuBois Central Catholic finished third with a 241. Curwensville wound up 10th at 291.
Hollidaysburg, led by John Brennan\’s 68, topped the large schools with a 225, beating State College \’A\’ by three strokes. Hershey \’A\’ was third at 233.
Clearfield, which lost its opener to DuBois CC 333-369 Monday, will host Curwensville Thursday and Philipsburg-Osceola and Bellefonte Friday in 10 a.m. matches at the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club.
Curwensville was beaten 331-432 at Punxsutawney in its first match on Monday.
