Morrisdale man named PSP sergant, moved to Embreeville

HERSHEY – Twelve men were promoted to the rank of sergeant at a special ceremony held Thursday by the state police.

One of those men was James E. Emigh of Morrisdale.

Emigh enlisted in the state police in 1991 and was most recently stationed within Troop G of the state police at the Philipsurg barracks. With the promotion, he will transfer to Troop J in Embreeville, Chester County.

Ranks of state police officers are cadet, trooper, corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, major, lieutenant colonel and colonel.

In addition to the sergeant promotions, 22 people were promoted to corporals and three people were promoted to the position of liquor enforcement officer 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Jeffrey B. Miller.
