Truck stolen from dealership, then set on fire

CHESTER HILL – State police at Clearfield are investigating the theft of a truck from Ryder Ford in Chester Hill Borough.

Reports say the truck was stolen from inside the dealership between midnight and 6 a.m. Saturday. Once inside the building, those involved loaded the truck full of workers’ possessions including a neon green Snap-On tool box containing miscellaneous tools and a computer car scanner.

Vending machines were also broken into, and food was stolen from inside.

A registration plate was taken from a vehicle belonging to a customer, and the plate was placed on the truck.

Police found the vehicle off of Bowman’s Hill Road in Lawrence Township. It was burned.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact state police at Clearfild at 857-3800.
