OTSL to be Well Represented at Class C State Championships

Drifton — The Class C Men\’s Fast Pitch State Tournament will take place July 14-16 in Drifton.  

Two local teams will be representing the Old Town Softball League starting Friday night. The two teams will be among 28 fighting for the coveted state title and a trip to the National Championships.

Jim\’s Sports Center will be the first team to take the field, as they begin the tourney at the starting time of 6:45. Jim\’s earned their spot in the championships by winning the District 8 Title at Bucky Strunk Field earlier this summer.  Jims\’ opponent will be Michael B\’s, the second place finisher at the state qualifier in Lebanon. Jim\’s last participated at the states in 2003.

Taking the field for Jim\’s this weekend will be: Danny Davidson, Aaron Dugan, Justin \”Gutty\” Wallace, Dave Patrick, Doug Danver, Dustin Delbaggio, Mickey Bumbarger, Greg Maines, Jack Rumfola, Kevin Lykens, Greg Hanes, Buck Danver, Gary Springer, Mike Moskel, Tyler Danver, Lucky Prestash, and Ronnie \”Dak\” Rea.

At 8:15 on Friday, Buster\’s will begin their quest for that elusive state title. Their opponent will be Dellville, the District 2 Champion. Dellville was ranked 26th in the state after last year\’s 0-2 performance. Buster\’s placed 4th last year at the state championships and will look to improve on their best state performance ever.
Equalling last year\’s record of 4-2 and placing 4th would qualify them for this year\’s Nationals in Georgia.

Playing this weekend for the current first place team in the OTSL include: Brian Barr, Kevin Billotte, Brandon Billotte, Todd Stiner, Rick \”Super Stew\” Stewart, Steve Terry, Andy Squires, Jerry \”Jerk\” Watson, Brent Thomas, Travis Henry, Bill Kaslovic, and Todd Schicking.
