WOODLAND – Work to replace a bridge over Roaring Run along Route 2027 in Bradford Township will start Friday.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation project will make closure of Route 2027 necessary. A detour of 9.5 miles will be in place during the duration of the project.
PennDOT expects the project to be complete in October. The detour will direct drivers to make use of Route 2028 and Miner address and on Spring Road a temporary stream crossing will be in place to accommodate emergency vehicles only.
The current bridge will be replaced with a new pre-cast concrete structure. Contractor on the $1.2 million project is Francis J. Palo Inc. of Clarion.
All work is weather-dependent.
PennDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this closure and reminds drivers to follow all detour signs, obey posted speed limits, and to always buckle up.
