Clfd. Jr. High FB -- 2 out of 3 'aint bad for long trip to Central Mountain

Lock Haven -- In the season finales for all three Clearfield Junior High football teams, a 2-1 record at much bigger Central Mountain was a good ending to a successful season.

The 8th graders started the action with a blow-out 32-8. There were some tough games for this squad during the year, so an easy victory was a nice way to end the season.

The defense led the way as Alex Weaver and Andrew Redden scored on interception returns. David Hoover had several sacks, Brandon Hogue had 3 picks, while Ryan Butler had a fumble recovery.

Hogue also scored 2 touchdowns. QB Curtis Frye also ran one in.

The 8th graders end on a 2 game winning streak to complete their season.

The 7th grade squad kept the momentum going by blanking Central Mountain 14-0.

Ryan Hertlein and Curtis Frye scored the TDs, while Beau Swales caught a pass for a 2-point conversion.

The youngsters finished a promising season with only one loss.

The much improved 9th grade team ended the season against one of the better 9th grade teams in Central Pa by getting beat 26-7.

The lone touchdown was scored by Ethan Gillespie on the return of a blocked punt by Matt Lonjin.

Down 12-0 at the half, the 9th graders just couldn't get anything going (other than 3 blocked punts) and finished their season at 5-3.
