August 27th, 2008 Clearfield County Officials of Townships of the Second Class to Meet on Oct. 5
CLEARFIELD - Officials representing townships of the second class in Clearfield County will convene on Oct. 5 at the Lighthouse Evangelical Church in West Decatur for their annual County Convention.
The purpose of the annual convention is to provide township officials with up-to-date information to help them better serve their residents and to give them an opportunity to exchange ideas on local government issues.
The convention will feature a wide range of speakers, including Cory Adams, Legislative analyst of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors. Adams will talk about legislation affecting townships of the second class, association programs and services for townships, and issues of major importance to townships and their residents.
The State Association of Township Supervisors represents Pennsylvania’s 1,456 townships of the second class, 30 of which are located in Clearfield County.
Other speakers who will address the township officials include: state Rep. Camille “Bud” George,state Rep. Dan Surra, Governor’s Regional Office Director Howard Brush, Phil Scrimenti of the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services, and Randy Albert of PennDOT, District 2-0.
