Tallahassee, FL (AHN) - Florida State head football coach Bobby Bowden reportedly indicated Wednesday that he will have the final word on the Seminoles' next defensive coordinator, but added that head-coach-in waiting Jimbo Fisher's input would be considered.
Bowden's comments were made a day after long-time defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews announced his decision to retire after the 2009 season.
In the ACC weekly teleconference, Bowden indicated that Fisher's input would be considered when he makes the final decision in naming Andrew's replacement.
It is still uncertain if Bowden, who is under a one-year contract, will return to the Seminoles bench for the 2010 season.
Under Fisher's deal with FSU, he is expected to be paid $5 million if he is not named head coach by January 2011.
Florida State (4-4. 2-3) is aiming to keep its ACC title game hopes alive by defeating Clemson (5-3, 3-2) Saturday
