New York, NY (AHN) - TiVo Incorporated and Entertainment Weekly Magazine announced Wednesday they had reached an agreement for TiVo to automatically record TV shows recommended by the magazine beginning this fall.
The programs on Entertainment Weekly's "What's to Watch" list will be made available to TiVo subscribers through broadband Internet access. A second option would be for TiVo clients to download the videos from Entertainment Weekly's portal to their DVRs.
Also to be made available to TiVo subscribers are EW's original programming, including "Just a Minute," "Ausiello TV" and "Idolatry."
In a statement, Entertainment Weekly publisher Scott Donaton said, "This partnership creates an exciting new service for our fans, closing the loop between the entertainment choices we spotlight and our audience's ability to connect directly to those entertainment experiences."
The EW deal is TiVo's latest. In July it struck a deal with Amazon for its subscribers to buy Amazon products off their TV and earlier this month TiVo said it would permit subcribers to access YouTube videos through their TV sets.
