CLEARFIELD – The human remains found in a building destroyed by an explosion and fire on Friday have been identified.
Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer Snyder verified Saturday that the victim is Shanna Carlson, 34.
The investigation into the fire at an East Market Street building that housed several apartments is ongoing as a state police fire marshal was called to the scene Friday.
The building was completely destroyed and those living there lost everything.
A Facebook Fundraiser has been set up for the family of Ashley Teats by her sister, Emily Rose, and monetary donations can be made on that page.
Donations to replace the everyday items they lost are being accepted by Vickie Evans at 214 Good St., in Clearfield.
Of special concern are items for Ashley’s 13-year-old autistic daughter. She wears size 3X in tops and size 2X in leggings. Her shoe size is 9/10.
The girl’s bedroom was “her safe space,” according to information listed on the fundraiser page. A special request was made for a Five Nights at Freddy’s bed set and curtains, which was quickly filled by a family who ordered replacements for her, according to Emily.
The rest of the family is in need of clothing, too. They are requesting women’s size medium tops and size 7/9 jeans and men’s medium tops and size 32/32 or 32/33 jeans.
Other replacement items they are asking to make things easier for the girl are a TV, DS, iPod and animal or kitty ear headphones.
