State Police Investigating Assault in Sykesville Borough

SYKESVILLE – State police at DuBois are investigating an assault that occurred Wednesday at 129 Grant St., in Sykesville Borough.

According to state police, it occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Grant Street Apartments.

State police say during a fight, a 24-year-old Luthersburg man, Victim 1, was assaulted, and it didn’t result in any discernable injury.

A 46-year-old Sykesville man, Victim 2, was allegedly assaulted and possibly with a baseball bat or similar object.

Victim 2 sustained bodily injuries to his face and head. He was subsequently treated at the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

According to state police, a 19-year-old Sykesville woman, Victim 3, was assaulted and it resulted in minor injury. A vehicle, owned by Victim 2, was damaged by one of the suspects.

State police say a suspect used a baseball bat or similar object to break the windshield; rear window; right, rear taillight; and right, front headlight.

State police believe there were at least two, known suspects and possibly others. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
