CLEARFIELD – The Susquehanna River Art Center of Clearfield has announced the opening of its 34th annual juried art exhibition.

Judges Ryan Haggerty and Catherine Danae studied 54 pieces presented by artists from Clearfield, Jefferson and Centre counties.

Entries ranged from traditional oil painting to enhanced digital photography, with special categories for sculptures.

Winning entries included a powerful, loose rendering watercolor painting of an elderly woman striding purposefully through a dream landscape and a glittering mosaic of the Good Samaritan helping the injured victim onto his burro.

The exhibit is at the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library now through the end of October.  An award reception will be held Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.; the public is invited to attend.
