Andrew John Lash, 92, of Curwensville died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 1, 1925, he was the son of John and Ethel (Sutika) Lash. Mr. Lash was a laborer and self-employed.
He was a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II. He was a member of the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville. He loved gardening and fishing.
On Jan. 27, 1951, he wed the former Mary Joanne McKenrick, who survives, along with two children, Andrew Lash Jr. of Curwensville and Bonnie Lash and her husband, Chris Horowitz of Boston.
He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Darlene Lash of Curwensville and eight grandchildren, Derek, Jake, Lauren, Amanda, Nate, Sarah, Valerie and Sandi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Patrick Lash; six brothers, George, Adam, John, Joseph, Michael and Pete; and six sisters, Mary, Katherine, Anne, Agnes, Helen and Caroline. He was the last member of his generation.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Father Stephen Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
