State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about deceptive business practices that occurred March 23, 1994 at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Winslow Township. According to state police, the victim agreed to purchase a bronze marker and granite base, paying a total of $1,695. As of this date, neither the marker nor the base has been ordered or installed at the grave site. However, state police said prosecution of the case has been declined due to it being beyond the five-year statute of limitations.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a parking complaint that occurred in the area of Washington Avenue.
- Police received a report about a phone scam. According to police, it was found the victim’s phone number is being used to “spoof” residents in an effort to obtain personal information. Police would like to remind residents not to provide personal information out over the phone.
- Curwensville Borough police assisted with a warrant service.
- Police were requested to check a person’s welfare in the area of River Road and Race Street. However, police were unable to locate the person.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident along Route 879. No injuries were reported as a result.
- Police received multiple fraud reports from Wal-Mart.
- Police received three BB guns and a limb saw that were found on Rails to Trails. Police have these items at the station.
- Police conducted a warrant service in the Plymptonville area.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a female who was asking for food and refusing to the leave the hospital after being discharged. Upon arrival, police made contact with her, and advised that she must leave the premises or face arrest for trespassing. Police said no further action was necessary.
- Police received a complaint about loud music on West Spruce Alley. Upon arrival, police spoke with a woman who said her son was practicing with his band but has since stopped. Police advised for him to keep the music down.
- Police were dispatched to the parking lot of Martin’s Grocery, where several kids were reportedly riding bicycles in traffic and swearing. The kids nearly caused an accident, a witness told police. Upon arrival in the area, police were unable to locate any kids.
- Police were dispatched to a non-reportable accident on Beaver Drive. According to police, the operator of a tractor-trailer had stopped and attempted to back-up. When they did this, the tractor-trailer stuck the front end of a Honda Civic. The operators exchanged information, police said in their report.
